GIVING BACK TO THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN US SO MUCH

Nunnelly General Contractor attributes our success to the support we have received from the San Antonio and surrounding communities. Without our local community, we would not have the opportunity to celebrate over one hundred years of success in business. In recognizing all that our community has done for us, we have established the Nunnelly Gives Back Initiative to thank our community partners and invest back into the communities that have invested so much in our firm. When we mention our family culture, it not only stems from the origins of the Nunnelly family, but it includes our clients, business trade and supply partners, and our employee team members... all of which are our community. The Nunnelly Gives Back Initiative incorporates three core goals. To dedicate our time giving back to the community through several community service initiatives, provide guidance to local small businesses through business mentor protégé programs, and to provide direction and guidance to building the future of our industry through student mentorship programs. Community Service

Nunnelly General Contractor encourages and supports our teams to participate in Community Service. You can find our teams dedicating time at the San Antonio and New Braunfels Food Banks, providing assistance to local non-profit organizations, or participating in the beautification of our city through organizations such as the Associated General Contractors of America. Nunnelly continues to monitor the needs of our community and provide assistance in addressing those needs.

LOCAL BUSINESS MENTORSHIP

When you have owned and operated a business for over one hundred years, you tend to have some best practices and lessons learned from successes and failures. Starting and running a construction business comes with a lot of challenges and risk. We believe in supporting our local small businesses which in turn strengthens our local economy. Nunnelly participates in several business mentor protégé programs and has for over 25 years. Executive leadership from our teams dedicate their time to programs such as the Bexar County and City of San Antonio Mentor Protégé Programs. As a business you must continually learn and evolve with the challenges of the market and economy and by partnering with other local businesses, we have learned that we can support each other to build a stronger San Antonio business community.

STUDENT DEVELOPMENT

Our industry continues to face a workforce shortage crisis. The commercial construction industry can provide a very successful career and often without the requirement of a four-year degree. While we encourage students to pursue continued education, not everyone is built or desires to pursue a college education. In addition to Nunnelly partnering and providing internship opportunities with several prestigious universities such as Texas A&M, University of Texas – San Antonio (UTSA), and Texas State University, our firm participates as a mentor with local high schools through the National ACE Mentorship Program. This program provides us with the opportunity to educate high school students of several career paths that best fit their dreams. We partner with top local design and engineering firms and give students a well rounded education of all aspects of our industry. Nunnelly realizes that the only way to solve our industry’s workforce shortage is by investing in young future builders and managers.
