Nunnelly was awarded as the best value contractor to build the San Antonio Fire Station #2 project. This project was a new, ground-up 12,500 sq.ft. concrete tilt-wall facility with custom form liner, including three apparatus bays and 1 EMS bay, complete with fully integrated trench drain systems and special Fire Department USDD alerting systems. This facility consists of living quarters for fire and EMS personnel, common space, kitchen/dining area, and an exercise room.
The structure was a mix of tilt wall panels and structural steel. The tilt wall panels had a high-end architectural corrugated finish, which required additional coordination and preparation to maintain quality control. The exterior of the facility is mixed EIFS and mason, with a metal standing seam roof system.
